LK-MHD (Lattice Kinetics for 3-D Magnetohydrodynamics) is a physics appplication used to study the dynamics of magnetized plasmas in the fluid regime. Writtten in fortran 90, LK-MHD is based upon the lattice Boltzmann method (LBM). LBMs provide a unique framework for the full non-linear treatment of turbulent systems using a mesoscopic kinetic algorithm for the simulation of macroscopic non-linear fluid equations. The code includes both serial and parallel versions designed to run on desktop PCs, the IBM-SP (seaborg) at NERSC and the Cray X-1 (klondike) at ARSC. The MPI library is currrently used for parallelization,
but High Performance Fortran and Co-Array Fortran versions may be developed in the future.
